Vesta Powder is burned in very small quantities in order to banish spirits, entities, or negative energies from a space. It is burned before any rituals and as part of a banishing ritual or exorcism. It is also known by the folk name of "Chasing Powder".
Vesta Powder takes its name from the Roman Goddess Vesta (Goddess of the Hearth) , who was famous for the eternal fires in her temple. She is a fire goddess, a protectress of the house who brings warmth into the house and into the soul as well. She protects the domestic peace and the family. Vesta is associated with virginity, protection, warmth, family, fire, the hearth, maternity and the home.
This product is flammable and should be handled with care. To use, place a small amount (approximately 1/2 teaspoon) in a fireproof container. Light it using a long match (not a lighter), being sure to keep your hand well away. There will be a flash as the powder ignites. The powder will burn away in a quick flash, producing a puff of smoke.
This Vesta powder comes packaged in a glass bottle approximately 1.75 inches tall. A little goes a long way.
USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN USING THIS, OR ANY FLAMMABLE PRODUCT. Do not burn Vesta Powder on or near flammable surfaces, including flesh.
